I am 27 years old and i am a very active athlete run 5 miles a day 5 days a week and play basketball I tuly love being active. I have had pain the the ball of my foot just below my big toe and 2nd metatarsal. I had a bone scan done yesterday and it appeard it was positive and showed hot right where my sesamoid bones are located. This condition has been bothering me for 6 months. If it is indeed fractured and i have to get it fixed which path is better for a active individual a sesamoidectomy or a bone graft, or maybe even a partial sesamoidectomy. I want to continue being active after the no weight bearing crutching period and walking boot i just would like to know the best option for the future it has been nagging me for far too long.
