Nothing on Podiatry, but good information and backs up the case for non-medical prescribing.

Related to the prescription of the medical devices (as a foot orthosis is) all the time I've asked myself what means "other person authorized by virtue of his professional qualifications to do so", from the definition of "custom-made device": "‘custom-made device’ means any device specifically made in accordance with a duly qualified medical practitioner's written prescription which gives, under his responsibility, specific design characteristics and is intended for the sole use of a particular patient. The above mentioned prescription may also be made out by any other person authorized by virtue of his professional qualifications to do so." (quote from COUNCIL DIRECTIVE 93/42/EECcof 14 June 1993 concerning medical devices)
    Any experience with this?
