I am new to the forum and had a question regarding prophylactic antibiotics in nail surgery. What is the protocol for prophylactic antibiotics in patients with artificial joint replacements? In this case the replacement is greater than five years old. There is no current infection in the nail and the procedure would be done using sodium hydroxide. Any information or advice you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
