    Conclusions
    Type of flooring does influence development of plantar fasciitis. Maximum incidence of plantar fasciitis was noted with people living in marble floored houses.

    Where they were undoubtedly barefoot...

    Marble - hard and flat - not what we were designed to stand on or ambulate on.

    Of course that's not the whole story. Footwear, weight, activity level and foot-type also need factored in, but I'm happy to see hard and flat in the mix too.
