    Re: The meaning of ASICS

This is exactly the kind of communication I hate "World's Best Shoe", then people come trying to buy this shoe because "Runner's World says it's the best", regardless their running needs.

I must say I did learn a lot with this magazine (actually most of my English is due to try to understand the shoe reviews), it is my opinion that since Tom Brunick stop doing the reviews their are more commercial than informative.

    Re: The meaning of ASICS

Just saw Paula Radcliff win the New York marathon and she wasn't wearing the best running shoes in the world, making her feat absolutely amazing.

I though any number of cheap shoes would also be in with a shout – researchers! I am afraid we are over exposed with editors choice, gold awards, reader favourite so on and so forth – advertising buck.

The Ascis Gel Nimbus is undoubtedly a class act, its construction design and materials etc and in the right feet it would be hard to better, but to call it the ''Worlds Best Shoe' is a nonsense. There are some great minds on this site who couldn’t even agree (totally that is) what ‘support' means so Runners World deciding on one shoe over another is a miracle! – Or do they mean ‘Runners World Best (advertising income) Shoe. Cynical yes - but the I was isolated and marginilsed at an early age.

RW went away from the shoe of the year concept that they promoted in the 80's, now they are going back to it ...

    i agree with Paulo.

Too often do i see patients with a 4E pronated foot posture crammed into a shoe like the nimbus. Why?....All because they read a magazine claiming it is the shoe of the year.
