I've been listening to pod chat live with you guys and kevin kirby today. I'm a 2nd year pod student currently writing my msk assignment, the more research I look at the more confused I find myself. So I was wondering if you were to look at structural hallux limitus right now, who would you references?

Love what you guys do, thank you so much.

Also Craig I will be purchasing biomechanics bootcamp if and when I receive my final student loan

    Take care Beth

Not sure what you mean here.
Structural hallux limitus = structural reduction in range of motion (some people call that hallux rigidus)

Thank you so much for the reply.

Would it still be hallux rigidus <15 dorsiflexion with no windlass? I think I have myself ever more confused I've been disregarding papers with rigidus assuming there was no dorsiflexion at the mtpj and trying to find papers with SHL which there is very few.

I have attached a lecture I gave 2.5 years ago in Nieuwegein, Netherlands on the Biomechanics of Hallux Limitus and Rigidus. Hope this helps and good luck with your studies.

In real live hallux limitus and rígidus makes it more confusion. Base on patient symptoms, mild, modera or severe.
Severe- always painful w + changes in xray
Moderate- painful w weight bearing, +\- xray changes
Mild- painful only weight pulled, - xray changes
