    Hi,

Can anyone advise what books or literature are best to study for the UK surgical passport test?
Currently I am working through McGlamry's Comprehensive textbook of Foot & Ankle Surgery. I find it is very much in depth and extensive and pretty heavy going - just wondering if anyone can recommend a more succinct textbook that is more to the point?

    Thanks,
    Harry

Harry i commend you on studying for the Passport, however the Passport is not actually a test, and whilst you will definately gain from reading all the texts, the best thing to do is get some experience in theatre. Also, dont just read about surgical procedures, they dont expect you to know everything from a scarf to a brostrum. What they do want to know is that your safe and you know your general principles ie mechanics, medicine etc

I had mine not too long ago and recieved some structured feedback. Which is what its all about.

    Hi George,

Thanks very much for your reply and advice. I did find their requirements somewhat vague. Yes it is a bit too much to expect you to know everything!

I will take on board your advice in my preparatory studying. Thanks again.

    Harry
