One of the all time classic articles to be published in the early years of the University of California Biomechanics Laboratory has come available online: The Major Determinants in Normal and Pathologic Gait.

All podiatrists interested in walking gait biomechanics should read this paper at least twice since I consider it one of the best articles on walking biomechanics of its era (Saunders JB, Inman VT, Eberhart HD: The major determinants in normal and pathological gait. JBJS, 35A:543-558, 1953). I'm currently writing my August 2015 Precision Intricast newsletter on this great paper.

I love this drawing from the paper. It reminds me a little of Norman Rockwell's classic paintings from the same era......

  2. I'm thinking more: Gottfried Helnwein, Boulevard of Broken Dreams (1984)
