    hey all,

i'm a second year pod student who has to come up with a biomechanics research project.

we were thinking of examining /seeing if wearing UGG boots effects gait in teenagers. (it has to be refined but thats the basic idea)

i have a teenage sister and she wears them all the time, and so do her friends..they do complain of foot pain ..

has anyone done anything involving this? any ideas of how to approach it?

    thanks!!

With any research project you have to carefully define the research question. For example is walking in ugg boots any different than walking barefoot. Is walking in uggs any different than in walking in running shoes? J(You might be able to do that study with an in shoe sensor.)

People's feet can hurt in any kind of foot wear or even barefoot. Perhaps you could do a survey on the incidence of foot pain in ugg versus high heel shoes. (or some other kind of shoe.)

    Cheers,
