I have a patient she is a known diabetic with left sided charcots foot, she has already developed full deformity on left foot, i wanna give her orthotics which can stablise the walking and help. at present she has no ulcers but some tingling on both side. she is not obese. diabetes is fully controlled.

    my question is
    1. willl orthotic prevent the other foot deformity if it develops in future?
    2. is giving orthotic a right decision? if not what should be done?
    3. will TCC help at this deformed state?
    4. Any suggestions ?

No, but may give you some time to get a TCC in place if a new "injury" occurs
The patient will benefit from both a accomodative orthoses and specialist footwear to protect the current deformity, and we usually make shoes and orthoses in pairs.
Depends at what stage the Charcot is. If temps between R and L are within one degree, Unlikely, if > one degree, the Charcot Fracture may still be active, and casting (TCC, ITC) is inducated
Corrective surgery to lengthen the Achillies and remove any large boney prominencies. A full reconstruction may also be possible.
