Has anybody got a favorite mixture for a wart paste?

 

I get 60 and 80% Sal acid made up by my pharmacist in soft parrafin base, 25 or 50g jar for the pt only costs about $15, freeze the living daylights out of it with N2 then show the pt how to self manage applying acid and occlusive bandage....then it does not cost them hundreds of dollars to get rid of a wart that may not actually be bothering them that much and may have gone away by itself given time. This is for fairly healthy types...not the frail diabetic ones etc, common sense..

Sent you an email but here is what I use on V/P's
100% mono solution
66% sal.
Crystal of mono

Most plantar warts are 1cm diameter and 1 cm deep. Most are removed intact and if solution applied on Monday the V/P is removed on Friday. Final Tx Monday.

Does anyone know of "controlled trial" articles on the topic of medicament treatment on plantar warts, having a hell of a time finding randomised trial studies!

You can also try urea(Carmol 40 ) for recalcitrant warts.Anything that has emollient propoerties can be used.

 

Does anyone have experience with or opinions regarding cantharone ???

On the 31st October 2009 I left a reply. It appears that 3 years of data has gone missing on this thread.

I stated that it was pointless doing random control tests on V/P as people who have the warts want to get rid of them and are not interested in being part of a study which will get them nowhere.
