I recently suffered a severe ankle sprain in my right ankle playing basketball. A few years ago , I fully tore (Grade 3) my ATFL in my other (left) ankle a few years ago, and went through the regular rehab process, which went fairly smoothly, and I have regained most of motion and am not really in any pain in that ankle.
