I have this book :Mass Customization and Footwear: Myth, Salvation or Reality? sitting on my book case since 2007 ... been starting to think it was a myth ... but then technology has changed more than a bit since then...

In my alerts just now was this from WIIVV:

Looks like it going to start with a Kickstarter project.
In the promo's material there is a "You are a runner ...." etc ... So looks as this might be for running shoes as well as others?

In Feb, Wiivv raised another $4million in venture capital funding which the used to purchase the company eSoles and said:

I found it hard to get excited about Wiivv's and SOLS (failed) effort to bring 3d printed insoles direct to the consumer, but this mass customization of footwear is something I think we can get excited about.

The Kickstarter project launces Thursday, March 23, 2017.
