    french podiatrist in singapore

    Hello everyone,
I did my studies in France and have a french state diploma in chiropody-podiatry.
I now live in Singapore, but they don't know anything about french studies.
They say that i have to be registerable in uk or in Australia to be able to practise here.
    I tried to get information everywhere, as well as the health professional council in uk, nobody can help me;
Does anyone know if the french diploma is registerable in uk?how am i suppose to do?Which official doc can help me to practise in Singapore.
    Thanck you for your help.

As far as I am aware, a French diploma would not allow you to register in Australia - do not know about the UK

I would suggest that you contact the HPC or The Society for further information. You may be able to claim reciprical registration through the EU.

BUT i would check with the HPC. If the course is not a 3 year recognised course then I doubt that you would registerable in the UK BUT I may be wrong.......

Both the HPC and Society have websites for contact details.

    Hi Jasmin!

You can apply via the international application route.

    Have a look at: http://www.hpc-uk.org/apply/international/

Basically I think you'd have to apply to the HPC, and then see what they say...

    Cheers,

    Robin.

    Hi Jasmin!

The point is, it would seem by your post that the Singapore authorites may let you practice there if you are HPC registered. SO check with the Singapore Authorities that this is the case, and then get HPC registered via the international applications route, and IF you are acceptablly registered by the HPC then you should be ok shouldn't you?

If you don't apply to the HPC, you cannot be HPC registered, and so under UK law you are not legally a Chiropodist or Podiatrist. There is no other way. If that is what the Singapore authorities are saying they want, then you get registered or you don't!

    Cheers,

    Robin.
