Why ankle joint mobilization caused pain and soreness?

    I was done ankle mobilization (traction of upper ankle joint) by a trainee in a podiatry clinic. My lateral ankle capsule and lateral instep in front of it got clearly painful and sore after that. Not right away but starting on my way home from the clinic.

    It´s been already three months after this, but especially ankle capsule gets still sore. My physiotherapist said that it´s soft tissue soreness and ankle capsule soreness. But he didn´t admit that mobilization technique was in any way...
