Prof Irene Davis confirmed as keynote speaker

Barefoot running expert confirmed for conference

World renowned foot health expert Prof Irene Davis has been confirmed as a keynote speaker for the Australasian Podiatry Conference next year.

Prof Davis is probably best known for her research into barefoot running, which is the subject of much debate amongst podiatrists.

She has been published in countless peer reviewed journals and was recently featured in Nature.

Prof Davis currently works in the McKinly Laboratory in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Delaware where she is researching the relationship between lower extremity structure, mechanics and injury.

She has recently accepted a position at Harvard Medical School to develop and direct a National Centre for Running beginning in January next year.

The next issue of Podiatry Bulletin will feature an interview with Prof Davis, and a podcast interview will also be posted on the APodC website.
