Thanks to all those that came to our stand over the course of the conference.

l was asked how can we guarantee the fit of our custom made footwear when others cant or wont?

    Quality of Scan.
If you scan a weak foot suspended, it may be in slightly plantar flexed and inverted, for every correction we make to the scan file, it creates another potential error, its no longer the same model.
Scanners that don't capture a complete foot, large holes, also create more potential errors in the final model.

Why use a Clear check fit?
Even with a high quality scan files, complete without holes and in neutral weight or semi weight baring, you still need to use a Clear check fit to ensure quality of fit. Germany have lead the way and have been one of the longest users of this technology and they still use a process that includes a Clear check fit, to ensure a quality outcome for the client, why should you do anything less for your clients?

    Thanks!
It is the same thing as "shell shoe": http://www.oandplibrary.org/poi/pdf/1995_03_181.pdf
Do you believe that this check could be replaced by virtually evaluation of foot scan and designed footwear virtual files ?

When you provide pre fab footwear, you try shoes on, the first one doesnt always fit right.

So why should anyone take a chance with a high risk foot is beyond me, but some are simply supplying a shoe without the process of a "Clear check fit" or "Trial shoe", no evidence of the shoe fitting correctly.

Is it worth the risk? Nothing is perfect.
