    Aloha,
More and more of footwear is bought off the internet without the person buying the shoes trying them on first.

    Is this safe?
Would our professions (DPM's, Cpeds, Ortho's, PT's) recommend this to our patients?

Nike recently capitulated to Amazon because of the loss of brick and mortar stores with fitting stations and footwear assistants such as Sports Authority.

Who is doing the sizing and fitting now?
Are they well trained and qualified to do the foot assessments and fittings?

I am worried-concerned that shoe color, style and bling will supersede proper fit and function when it comes time to click the "purchase icon".

    Mahalo,
    Steve

Amazon deal with Nike is going to be disruptive in marketplace. Nike had to do something as 1stQ results showed drop.

As for buying online, talking to sellers, the return rates are low --> so seems to be working out ok

Is this just for running shoes Craig? I thought return rates across footwear were 30-40% ? This may just be in the UK as apperently we have embraced online shopping more than some countries.

Yes running shoes; it was a big USA based one I spoke with and they work on 3-5% returns; which I thought was pretty good.

    That's very good.

Maybe people aren't buying multiple colours of running shoes and sending back the ones they don't like.

Possibly also more people buying like for like trainer models so already know the fit is ok.

Or they can't be bothered to take the box to the post office to send them back. I once heard that U.S. citizens were much less likely to return a product.
