I'm a foot nurse in BC, Canada and have been operating a small mobile foot care business for the last three years. Until now I've used various dremels which have been replaced with a portable podiatry file. I'm considering the purchase of a Hadewe Helius 40 file with vacuum and would like to know if any of you are familiar with it. Any suggestions or recommendations are much appreciated.

I have not used the particular machine you refer to, but our department has a number of the Hadewe SB models which are now about 3 or 4 years old. We have found that the handpieces are prone to breaking/snapping off near where they attach to the power cable. I am not sure if this is a weakness in the handpiece design (it is their cheaper model I think), or whether we have a particularly heavy-handed pod who likes dropping it on the floor or something?! This is quite a possibility!:craig: Although I believe Hadewe have discontinued a lot of their drill models recently, so maybe there was a quality control issue?!

 

hadewe are crap cheap and break down ask a technician who repairs all makes of drills i did he said they were total sh-- he told me to buy one of the expensive ones of which i have 3 they rarely have problems. a good handpiece costs 4-500 quid. ps buy a wet drill they are much better cost between 1200 3000 british pounds.

 

Any recommendations on podiatry files with vacuum??? I'm looking for something fairly portable.
