Hi all, I am trying to remember where I saw an article on using old car tyres to form an offloading boot for foot ulceration, can anyone help.
I have had an sos from a Gp working in a primative enviroment who is dealing with diabetic foot ulceration with only limited dressings and no offloading knowledge.

I have adviced about all the normal things and some inventive alternatives to try but would like to site that article again.
    Thanks.

    Hi Leigh,

I was interested in your thread so I Googled 'car tyre shoes & foot ulcers.'

Lots of information RE: offloading pressure in insensitive feet & footwear modifications using car tyres. Rocker bottom etc. Leprosy was the cause of ulcerations in this instance. Too much info. to copy & paste here but plenty to read on Google.

    Many regards,

    Hi

It just goes to show that Google really needs to employ a "Twirly". Go for it girl. In a trice she has accessed the entire world data and unsassumingly made us realise that she is a font of information on all things rubber. :D

Yes sometimes its just about getting the combination of words right. I had tried a google search but will see if your combination comes up with the article.
