Hello I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I am a podiatry student and have a case study of a lady 69, osteoarthritis to feet and hands, no medication. HAV, pronation, callus to 2nd and 3rd MPJs, HD to R/3rd MPJ which is the only pain experienced until enucleated. Pronation, and ankle dorsiflexion only 5 degrees knee extended and flexed. Hallux has 5 degrees WB and 50 degrees on NWB, 1st Ray restricted. I am looking at an orthotic for pronation- a rear foot medial post, a MLA support, a 'U' cut out for L/3rd MPJ. However I had considered a forefoot cut out for first ray but now I am doubting this due to the hallux 5 degrees. The case study is regarding the HAV. I am hoping for some direction to help me choose the right orthotic.
