Hi everyone, my name is James.
Got a bit of a brain teaser for you...

Bilateral MPJ pain on first few steps in the morning or if seated. Pain disappears once he has taken a few steps and “warmed up”.

He is male 52 yrs, engineer works at a building site on his feet only a few hours a day, normal BMI and doesnt exercise. 9 month history of pain.

    plantar fasciitis?
    Plantar plate tear?
    rheumatoid arthritis?
    osteoarthritis?
    gout...?

    Thoughts?

  4. Hi James :welcome: to Podiatry Arena. You may want to post this question in the Biomechanical forum , but before you do I would suggest you put together a lot more info. With the information you have provoided there is little change of anyone helping with a diagnosis. If you have xrays you can post them up as well.

    Goodluck
