A colleague of mine was telling me, that when carrying out nail surgery on a patient, they had forgotten to put their plastic apron on and had to ask the assistant (a female) to tie the knot in the apron.

When the assistant tied the knot, my colleague said, "it is not often that I get young woman to tie me up" As a once off comment, do you find this a good ice breaker, or totally unprofessional behaviour!

 

Get over it..................... or as we say in Ozz, get your hand off it Daryl!

Why, are you thinking of making something of it and looking for justification here?

 

a good rule of thumb would be that if the comment was not meant to be offensive then do not be offended by it!

 

I think it would depend how old and what gender the patient was.

A 60 year old man would probably chuckle but a 25 year-old female would not. If you are going to try to be a comedian then you should assess your audience first.

Another good point to remember is that the further south in UK you go, the further the sense of humour recedes.......:D
