    Hi everyone,

I have an assignment which is focused on minimizing plantar ulceration via use of total contact insoles. For one of my sub sections regarding pressure I have to concentrate on cut outs for pressure relief. I've searched science direct, google scholar, pub med and I've searched on here too, but I've only found one scientific paper and the only other things I seem to come across are websites advertising orthotics. Could anybody please guide me in the right direction? maybe may termonlogy is incorrect, I've used:

    Orthotic insole cut outs
    Bevelled edge cut outs
Removal of aspects of the orthotic for pressure relief
    Insole cut outs for diabetics

HI Aneesha and welcome to Pod Arena. I must admit I have not heard of total contact insoles only total contact casts.
I look forward to seeing learning about TCI if they exist. Sounds like an accomodative device that is cast to the countour of the foot and soft material is used under the pressure areas?
If you go to forums, Diabetes or Biomechanics you can start a new thread at the top left of the page and ask your question again there. Not all read the intro forum.
    Good Luck

    Cheers
