    Hi all
I have been increasingly irritated by a 'feedback-like' buzz on the Doppler I use in clinic, so much so that today I compared it with the old one that I have in my dom case. No problem with the old one. It seems (after a conversation with the helpful chap from Huntleigh, who supply them) that I have the newer VP8HS, or high sensitivity, model probe as oposed to the VP8 on the old one. The manual does say

"This product contains sensitive electronics, therefore, strong radio frequency fields could possibly interfere with it. This will be indicated by unusual sounds from the loudspeaker. We recommend that the source of interference is identified and eliminated."

I work in a new hospital, and do have problems with no mobile phone signal - they did supply us with radio frequency clocks too, but had to withdraw them as they didn't keep time properly! I have been told the moby signal issue is something to do with the amount of iron in the building, but don't know if that is actually true. As far as other electric fields go, I don't have my phone on in my pocket (see above!), the computer is always on but at the other side of the room 4 m away and the neon tube magnifying light is on on the same unit as the Doppler.

My pragmatic solution is to swap the Dopplers and use the older less sensitive one in clinic and the newer one out on doms, but I just wondered if anyone else has experienced similar problems, especially in newer buildings?

    All the best
    Mo
