    Hi

    I'm a British podiatrist with 10 years post-grad experience.

I currently run a small MSK podiatry team within the NHS, providing pre- & post-op care for pod surgery patients, as well as carrying out biomechanics assessments and interventions. My NHS experience have given me a good general background, especially in treating the 'high risk' foot.

I have an independent skilled migration visa, and will be moving to Australia in June, so I'm looking to start work in July.

I'd ideally like to work on the Central Coast (NSW) or North Sydney areas.

If anyone knows of any jobs - permanent or temp, full or part time, I'd be most grateful for your help!

    Many thanks

    Sarah

    Hi Brett

Sorry for late reply - I have very limited internet access at present, having only just moved to NSW 4 weeks ago! I have a job now, having been to quite a few interviews - I'd underestimated how many jobs there are!

    Dear Sarah,,

Welcome to Aus, yep there are loads of jobs here. We are bringing out another Brit in Oct to fill our current post.

Bit of a change from Gt Yarmouth and Waveney PCT huh?????

How do you find the freezing houses here? I still find the cold challenging here. Weird !

Today at work saw a very severe pre ulcerative reynauds chill blained foot, and it is 17c today.

    Where abouts are you?

Hope you are happy with your move to Aus.

    regards David

    hi Sarah,

Do you know any more UK pods looking to come out to Australia or NZ?

    Hi David

Having spent a bit of time over here in the past, I was ready for the way houses don't handle cool weather so well! Having said that, all of our friends seem to have got round the problem by investing in wood burners - which not only generate lots of heat but also look very cosy.

I'm working on the Central Coast - very handy for where we're living, & just as beautiful as I remember! Hoping to buy a house in the next 6 months, while interest rates are low (& hopefully before property prices start to rise again).

It certainly is a change, & I'm fascinated to see the differences (& similarities) in podiatry practice between Aus & the UK.

So far I'm having a great time, and it was worth all of the hassle and stress (not to mention expense!) to make the big move.

    Dear Sarah,

Yesterday i received my Permanent Residency so i am now a real person here in Aus.

So as you can imagine i am a very happy chappy.

It has been a long tortuous and expensive journey.

But here i am looking forward to new life in Aus.

    The central coast is beautiful.

So enjoy aus as i intend to. Hoping to go to either Sunshine Coast qld or North tasmania for Xmas. Will do the other in new year.

What about the blizzards in the southern highlands. A friend is trapped in the bar due to the snow fields being closed by the severe storms.

We had a weird 20 mins this afternoon when it went very dark extremely windy and it passed over head.

    Strange weather here.

    regards david
