I was wondering if anyone has come across any information or literature regarding footwear advice for those paediatric idiopathic toe walkers. This was a request by the physiotherapy team as they are hoping to produce an information leaflet on the subject. I have accessed many articles but have not found one with any footwear advise.

I'm not too sure why noone has replied to this thread as it's a good question.Still early doors I suppose.
I am actually looking for something similar myself. Obviously something stiff soled would be appropriate to prevent them getting onto their toes. Stiff soled children's shoes are a bit of a rarity though. I used to try putting a stiff piece of very thin carbon fibre within the shoe. This helped to some extent but it isn't very comfortable and space inside children's shoes is limited anyway. Good luck with this. I can hear the replies coming as i sign off.

Thanks for your response. I also give similar information on a stiff sole, I also find that an upper that encompasses the ankle makes it difficult for them to plantaflex the foot, therefore would prevent them getting up onto their toes. Its a shame there is no literature to back this up.

Because it's in the 'Introductions' section; it doesn't show up on the homepage and not everyone looks here.

No worries Ian. Love your Avatar. You don't have shares in Tesco do you? I used to live in England and I remember tesco as being a huge supermarket that was always really crowded.
I really have fond memories of London. All the best.
