I had a paper on bioethics of cosmetic foot surgery published in Podiatry Now in the UK last last year which may add some light to this interesting aspect of modern podiatry.

  3. Loved this statement.
Having just seen an unfortunate 39 year old woman who is now hobbling around with a screw-fixation arthodesis for a mild to moderate HAV by a consultant orthopaedic surgeon maybe dear old Sam would like to look a little closer to home when it comes to the maiming of patients. Enjoyed the paper Syd - very enlightening as usual. Have no problem with cosmetic pedal procedures personally, providing they do not damage foot function per se. Leonardo da Vinci called the foot a 'work of art' - why not a beautiful work of art?
