    Hi friends,

I have recently had a patient referred to me from a doctor with what appears to be post tib irritation or early stage dysfunction.

As an incidental finding (or perhaps not) from the ultrasound, there appears to be an inter-tendon calcification or ossicle. It's location is unusual in regards to it's not in the normal position for an os navicularae close the the insertion, rather it's more proximal.

I guess what I am asking quite globally, is whether I have reason to be concerned about potential tendon-related complications as a result of this finding, whether it be a rapid degeneration or spontaneous rupture? Has anyone found this to be a problem at the post tib or other tendons; peroneals for example?

    Thank you for your help,
    Jemma
