Can anyone suggest reputable manufacturers of safety footwear in the UK.

Have a patient with a specific foot ailment ie corns under first and fifth
MT heads. Now walking so badly they have leg hip and back pain.

It is a food industry envionment and the footwear requirement is non slip
    ie wet and greasy floors.

The employer a large international name claims they are able to provide a choice of footwear
and cater for those employees with medical issues and provide podiatric insoles.

Ive seen both and they leave much to be desired.

    any comments welcome.

Hi Billy. There are a number of good industrial footwear suppliers in the UK and their products are quite wide and deep at the toes, giving room for orthotics if the foot is not too distorted. If you do a search for Industrial footwear you will see a number of good manufactures that I recognise. Spend about £50 - £70 for something decent.
Sometimes the only option is made to measure but the cost can be prohibitive. We only get asked to do it in exceptional cases because the off the shelf provision is so good. If you need to go that route then look at the 20 or so members of shoemakers network. http://www.shoemakers.org

This may help - DB Shoes in Rushden, Northants have just got a range of XXW and deep boots in for men, yes the toe cap is broader and deeper too - Wide Load.
