    hi, i am a student pod in my first semester at uni.. i find myself going through an awful lot of books, on line info and paperwork just to get one answer..if i get it at all. at the moment i need to know the infections the foot can get from unwashed hands.. a site with this info would be of great help. i do have the basics of this question but would like some good straight to the point reading please.. thanks for your time.. jane.

    Hi Jane,
    The answer to your question is really "how long is a piece of string?" The foot can become infected with any one of numerous pathogens if conditions are right.

    How about approaching it the other way around and look at the various aseptic/antiseptic/sterile techniques and methods of cross-infection control and the reasons why?

    That might give you are more comprehensive answer.
