Thank you for that it will be a great help especially now after watching Bill do a tibial block at Markyate.

Quote "Please see Pavier J C S and Liggins W J, 'The Use of 0.5% bupivacaine hydrochloride plain solution injections in the treatment of plantar fasciitis', British Journal of Podiatry Vol 4 No3. (August 2001). Essentially, this was a brief audit of 25 patients who underwent infiltration of L.A. under tibial block. All were recalcitrant cases, 44% achieved total resolution of symptoms and the mean percentage reduction in pain was 76.8%.

As with all such studies, the low patient number may be relevant and the mechanism of action is not known. There is, however, a pretty good list of references carried out, I am grateful to note, by my co-researcher!

Hope this is helpful, please let me know if you go on to a further study.

    All the best

    Bill liggins"

    Bill,

I see you used a tibial block. Marvin Steinberg used to block the posterior tibial nerve as his treatment for plantar fasciitis. His rationale was that he was blocking the sympathetic nerves, and therefore increasing circulation. The increased circulation helped with healing.
Did you compare the blocks by themselves versus the blocks plus local infiltration?

    Regards,
    Stanley
