Canadas legislation is different in every province. Whilst frustrating, this is how it evolved and remains. Some provinces accept DPM's, BSc in podiatry and DCh. Some will only accept one category. Work and diplomacy is working hard behind the scenes to unify the profession and get beyond the turf wars and let each practioner work to their full scope of practice on all Canadians.
I am in Manitoba. This province is a member of the Canadian Podiatry Association has had a DPM and welcomes any though none practice here at present, has a DCh and British grads. There is no exam except under exceptional circumstances ( ie have not worked as a podiatrist for a year or so). The applicant must have graduated from an educationally accredited course.
You must have a work permit or landed immigrant status or citizenship to work in Canada. I would suggest you contact the colleges or appropriate liscencing bodies if you are interested in working over here. There is a web site put out by Canadian immigration about podiatry. I do not know the address but if you contact the Registrar of the college of podiatrists of Manitoba ( 204 942 3256 ) or possibly any registrar of any province, they will be able to help you.
