    Hello fellow Podiatrist's

I've just moved over from the Uk to Australia. Spent a few years working within the hospital system and considering setting up private practise here in Australia.

Was hoping for a little help with estimating initial set-up costs for setting up a small podiatry clinic. I'm unsure on cost for equipment here within Australia.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Lee

    Lee,

It depends. Are you going to be sharing the rooms, sterilizing facilities etc?
Will you need a patient chair?
    How many instrument sets?

A set of instruments is about $150
A patient chair, anywhere from $2k-$20K
    An autoclave about $5K
    Clinician chair $250-$800
    Clinic Trolley $250-$2500
Room rental from $0 or a % of earnings to $1000+ a week.
Patient admin systems, appointment, billings etc. if paper based can be quite cheap, but more labour intensive, if electronic, higher set up costs, but better cash flowetc.
Basic stock from $200-$2000 depending on the practice

Get a few catalouges from the major podiatry suppliers in your state

eg: Briggate Medical, Allied Health Group, Algeos, DBS Medical.

They all have websites, but don't publicly publish their prices

    Best of luck
