    Hello!

I'm also looking for that. Can you help me?? Im trying to compare the manual methods for make the shell of orthotics in spain compared with your methods.

I have been reading the book of T.Michaud about foot orthoses (chapter 6), but i do not understand very well how you design and draw the shell in any material. Im looking for this information over internet but i do not find anything (only im finding for cad-cam prescriptions). I know i can cut a piece of eg. EVA, put it into the oven and using a mark incast in metatarsal head level and vacumm-form the eva with the cast.

I see all of your orthotics have normally the same shape of the shell (then you use the same method for make the shell) but here all orthotics are different about the shell shape. I refer about this shell shape:

What measures you take for arch, heel cup? Or you only cut a rectangle of material, vacuum and polish? But my questions are.. What measures need to have the rectangle of material to fit well with the cast in the vacuum process and achieve your shell shape? How do you learn to make it getting references in the positive cast?

    Thx for all

J.W. Philps - "Functional Foot Orthoses" is a very good book. Unfortunately out of print, but you can still get a second hand copy on Amazon. That is how I got mine.

    Hope that helps.
