    Depends what the criteria were for winning the award.

    I heard of a case of a GP being the best one you could get (according to the patients). The reason: he wore immaculate suits, drove a very expensive car, and had the perfect bedside manner. Unfortunately his colleagues didn't think that much to him. With basic stuff he was alright, but with anything remotely complicated, his diagnosis were questionable, and his treatment plans certainly were.

    Another GP at a different surgery, loads of patients didn't like him. He was abrupt, they thought he was arrogant, and no bedside manner at all. BUT.....consultants at the local hospital thought that (in terms of his diagnosis and treatment plans) he was one of the best GPs you could find. Like I said, loads of patients didn't like him.
