The voting papers have arrived. What do other people look for when deciding who to vote for in the election of SCP Council Members?

What do I look for? Well it's quite simple it's what they say about private practice and do I think they mean it. If they don't even mention private practice I won't consider them. You get the feeling that some of the candidates think they just have to put the words "private practice" into their blurb once and that's OK. Maybe my thinking is harsh but then business life out in private practice is hard these days and I want people on Council who understand about private practice.

It would seem that voting is rather an academic exercise this time round as there are 10 places up for grabs and 11 candidates. Maybe we should vote for who we dont want?

While I echo your concerns , is the society really there for us PPs ?

Can good representaton really make a difference?

Anne Stephens is a must to vote for. A lovely lady who speaks her mind but does so appropriately!

    All,
Personally I can't see one candidate who has anything different to say.

One has put their e-mail address so we can ask them about their biography, so that might be useful.

One wants to get rid of the title "Chiropody".

One is all for NHS pods.

One is sitting on the fence.

Two are all for the pod surgeons.

    Two live in academia.

Anyone got a pin and a blindfold ?

I have to say I looked at the list... read their blurb, considered which if any of them I would want to say something on my behalf and binned the lot.

Sometimes I just wish they would have someone like :
'Honest Joe..works their butt off in private practice to earn a few bob, doesn't get political and just wants to kick some of those stuffed shirts who don't live in reality land off the council and drag it into the 21st century'

Because I am an honest Joe, working hard to try and earn a few bob and I no longer have the time, strength, enthusiasm and the where withall to fight a losing battle.

Have been there, done it, got the T shirt and the scars etc in a previous life.

    But I can still dream.

    Bring on the revolution......
