    Hello all,

I am a shoe repairer from the UK currently working in San Francisco. I have recently started working with custom shoe makers. I have been doing alterations to shoes, building lasts and insoles for customers with some complex foot issues.

In 2 years I will be returning to the UK to take over the family shoe repair business and I would like to specialize in shoe modifications and orthotic insoles.

Is there a training course I could do for this, I am not looking to do medical assessment and diagnosis for conditions, just to be legally qualified to fill prescriptions for shoe modifications and basic orthotic insoles.

Would the SSIA PST course be of any use when I return to the UK or is there the same type of course in the UK??

    Thanks all, Durban

See if you can spend a week at an orthotic lab in your state and learn the process. I am sure labs will help you out.
