Can't say that I watch much comedy these days. However, as a young teenager, my favorites were Bill Cosby and also Cheech and Chong. I had a number of their albums (on vinyl) and listened to them frequentl'in my younger days for a good laugh.

Currently, when I have the time, I still enjoy watching Robin Williams anytime he is on a variety show being interviewed and able to do his improv stuff. He is an amazing talent.

 

Tempted to say Dennis Shavelson for his unerring ability to keep going in the face of a hostile audience - but that might just encourage him. Peter Kay is responsible for several accidents recently....

Lee Evans is funny. I loved his Roadrunner show.

 

I remember him well from the folk circuit long before he became famous and he was always brilliant.

He was granted membership of a gentleman's club - not one of those in which young ladies remove articles of clothing - of which I was an existing member. He was a miserable b#**+r! I believe that he was invited to leave due to his failing to conform to the dress code which was pretty strict at that institution - although I'd stand corrected, but he didn't anyway!

Yep, Vicky was my beautiful, late mother`s favourite comedienne....although Jo Brand came close with her views on men; "I do try to enjoy men`s company, really I do, but when i find myself alone in a room with one I can`t resist the urge to punch him".
