Here is what I wrote about Hoka One One running shoes in the Summer of 2011 here on Podiatry Arena...I'm still impressed!

I also remember what fan boy sites like the Natural Running Center said about Hoka's 5 years ago as well. How wrong did they turn out to be! ... and they still not learnt from that and continue to just make stuff up that suits their narrative.

posterior tibial tendon dysfunction vs adult acquired flatfoot

some suggest "adult acquired flatfoot" should be the preferred term instead of "posterior tibial tendon dysfunction"

no one actually searches for "adult acquired flatfoot"

  10. Re: The Daily Google Trends Thread

I remember giving a lecture on "Posterior Tibial Tendon Dysfunction" at a podiatry seminar here in the States a few years ago only to be followed up by another lecturer who went on to say that the "correct term" was not "Posterior Tibial Tendon Dysfunction" but rather was now "Adult Acquired Flatfoot", and that the term "Posterior Tibial Tendon Dysfunction" should not be used anymore. He looked straight at me when he made that statement. I said nothing in response but, knowing him all too well, it didn't surprise me one bit that he made that statement immediately after I gave my lecture.:bang::butcher::craig:

I think "Adult Acquired Flatfoot" is a term that we should not use due to it's lack of specificity. However, in my opinion, "Posterior Tibial Tendon Dysfunction" is a good term and describes the pathological process well that I see multiple times a week in my practice.
