Many of my colleagues and I discuss the prevalence of professional meetings within the podiatry community. In our opinion, there are an excessive number of meetings that actually take away from the industry rather than enhance it.

Its no secret that attendance at most meetings like the Midwest and APMA have fallen greatly within the last 2 to 3 years. The 2015 APMA National in Orlando was an embarrassment. A group of over 12K members and only 600 or so attended, if that. WOW!
I would like your thoughts? Are there too many meetings? What's the answer?
I am of the belief that clinicians are pressed on all sides and can no longer afford to take multiple days away from their practice. Plus, CEU's can be obtained online in many cases.
What say you? Have a good week!
