I am a UK trained Podiatrist; graduated from the University of Plymouth in 2011 and have worked for the NHS for just over 5 years. I am currently in the process of having my skills assessed via anzpac and will be starting the VISA application process in a few months. Just seeing if there are any UK expats out there who can offer advice or information about the process. Also, where is a good place to start to familiarise myself with how Podiatry works over in Australia. Is there a big difference to the UK in regard to working conditions, patient referrals and pathways between other professions? I have mostly worked in routine clinics where we treat all aspects of podiatry. I would have to say the majority of our patients are of the older generation and are high risk with complex medical histories. We see a lot of wound care. I also work part time due to family commitment. Do employers offer part time contracts or do they tend to be mainly full time?
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
    Dianne
