I am here to offer a technique in digital custom foot orthoses creation. Anyone can learn this technique as it is based on fundamental CAD design functions offered by readily available CAD programs such as solidworks and Rhinoceros. This technique gives the user the ability to have maximum control in the orthotic shape without relying on preprogrammed algorithms or estimations of the orthotic shape on the digital scan. In fact this technique allows the user to cross sectionally inspect the orthotic fit to the foot scan in real time. If you have preferred measurements for parameters such as heel cup height, orthotic width, etc this can all be done with ease and precision. CAM integration is easily available as well.
