At a recent conference I heard the presentation by a physio extolling the virtues of neurostimulation for treatment of pain using the Interx device.Subsequently I have had a demo in my practice and feel there is potential in podiatric practice for this
as an adjunct treatment for symptomatic relief.
It worked well on my "podiatrist's shoulder".
Does anyone have any experience of it or thoughts as to it's efficacy?
I feel we all need more simple,time effective modalities to improve pain reduction long or short term, could this be one?

I too was interested in the InterX as a treatment modality for neurological discorders like neuromas and heel pain involving the calcaneal nerve branches. I will have contacted the company for a demonstration and waiting their reply.
I think that the reason it has not been taken up by Podiatrists is that we so often deal with the aetiological factors rather than just treating the symptoms. But like recalcitrant heel pain sometimes you just need to break the pain cylce as an adjunct to your treatment.
Have you used the InterX on any patients as yet? I would be interested on your feed back.

I haven't yet taken up the offer to rent the device for 2 months but am pretty sure I will.Then I suspect I'll be using it on friends & family and selected patients to get the feel of it.I think that you are right , sometimes it's just good to have another avenue of delivering some more immediate pain relief.
Once I've started using it I'll report back. I'd like to feel comfortable and be competant using it before I use it on patients.
