Hi, I have been working as a Chiropodist for28 years and run a very busy practice from a purpose built surgery in my home. I am thinking of retirement, and wonder what value my business has. I have a patient list f around 500 with regulars of approximately 300 whom I see between 4-8 weeks. I obviously have surgery furniture and equipment. I
am wondering what the value of this would be and would appreciate anybody's input here. My location is SS3 . Essex. This would be a very very good business opportunity for somebody wishing to increase their revenue. Many thanks all.

Welcome mrsaus, exciting times ahead for you as you think of retirement!

This is a great question. What is your exit strategy? Time lines? Equipment can be sold.

New equipment is cheaper than it was back in the dark ages when I started.

Bank's and accountants will look at the CRM, the policy and procedures available, KPI's, average dollar spend, who works in the business and its location.

Are you selling the home with the biz? Are you wanting someone else to rent within your home? Are you looking to sell your data base?

Selling a solo biz can be difficult as you are the biz. If you leave so may many of the clients.

Could you transition to retirement by getting a colleague to work with you??

Many colleagues over the years who are independent operators have had to walk away knowing that they have had the benefits of being autonomous without a pay out at retirement.

    Good Luck!
