OK, spill the beans...whats in your dom bag and is it really necessary?!

    (ie last weeks cheese sandwich!)

How often to you turn it out?

I started out with a "2 Treat Feet" soft dom bag and it had so many lovely pockets to put stuff I soon filled every one...trouble was I could never find what I needed without first having searched everywhere else!

Now I have a flight bag, having trialled a few different types of bag.

Here are the contents on my bag

1 or 2 sets intruments, paper towels (i only take in enough for each visit).
zip up washable mesh bag, holding hydrex, surg spirit, blade remover, gehwol cream, iodine, ferric chlor, gehwol callus softener.
    domiciliary drill & extension cable.
plastic compartmented box containing ingrow nippers, extra burs, mandrils, blades, dressings, sissors, and small supply felt/fleece etc.
pocket of hard surface wipes, digital camera
empty lidded container for used instruments
front pocket of bag holds my glasses, tissues, keys, diary
    back pocket holds laptop

    I carry debris tray separately

I have a selection of creams and other supplies, including a stool in my car just in case, but have learned not to take any more than a bag i can easily carry, due to a recent back injury

I give it a basic clear out after each dom day, and weekly proper "do"

I'm probably still killing myself, but probably more slowly than before!

PS: the rest of the cr&p is on the floor of the front passenger well!

My Dom bag is actually a bag from Spotlight designed to haul around a sewing machine. It has the retractable handle and wheels, and has the bonus of being very light weight. It has everything in it in see through plastic containers which is very handy.

It's always helpful to see what other Podiatrists pack in their dom bags, but now I also take a mask.

I bought a stanley tool box with wheels and it's huge and fab! It has everything I need for a daily case load from blades to foams and leatherboard and yes, bits of toenail and dust by the end of the day too.. but that's why I clean it out most nights!

At that strength, I wouldn't have thought you would need to drink it though - merely inhale ! :drinks
