The most common causes (etiology) of abnormal (gravity drive) pronation are the two embryological foot structures I first published on in 2002: the Preclinical Clubfoot Deformity and the Primus Metatarsus Supinatus deformity (aka Rothbarts foot).

I strongly encourage you to listen to my discussion with Dr Barrett. Using simple-to-understand embryological plates, I walk you through the fetal development of the foot that terminates in one of these two abnormal foot structures.

Once you understand the shape (supinatus) of these abnormal foot structures, dimensioning (posting) your orthotics becomes very logical and simple.
