    Being a good old plain chiropodist I have a take on this. As you will all know when you have a child with gait problems. Then you have to educate them, because that is what they were born with and they know nothing else. The same thing I would try to apply to an adult for whatever the reason for the fault. Nor always a success, but worth a try and of course their G.P. would have to be informed and permission given.
    It is surprising what patients can try and do when they have been told something different. Gently and steady as she goes.
