I am after some advice re: when is the right time to buy or set up a practice?
I have had 2 years experience in a very well establish clinic with a very varied case load. During this time learning as much about the admin side of the practice as the practice manager could stand. I have since relocated and am wondering if I should work for myself?
I have just started doing some sums and a business plan template, and I thought I would see if their were some older wiser heads out there to give me some tips.
Just a few questions:
- am i better off setting up for myself or buying a practice?
- what realistic start up costs am I looking at?
Also my favourite areas of podiatry are overuse injuries, orthoses, and an absolute love for IGTN's. However, I understand nails, corns and callus will be paying the bills. My long winded question is how do I go about choosing a business name?
Do I opt for a name with a 'sports' (and I use that term loosely) theme or a generic 'podiatry centre' type name and risk not standing out in the exclusive sportsmed market place?
I appreciate any comments
