Newington remained the same without any change to the clinical premises until the early 90s. The students attended Queen Margaret College college for lectures and tutorials. Crookston was by cpmparison a purpose build facility which was eventually out gown but certainly light years ahead of Lothian. Sadly Crookston fell into disrepair and was a shadow of its former glory by the time they knocked it down. Newington was a protected building and will be there yet.

The setting at CIT was picturesque by any comparison and at a time when it opened the state of the art. As the years passed and the double bone surgery theatre and orthotic labs were included it was well enviedas a centre of excellence. The changing politics of the Institute however and imminent closure ensured the centre did not enjoy further development.

  8. Not saying it wasn't, but from 1 picture, clinic, patients, curtains white coats , could be any student clinic ,

That was the accepted clothing and the original HOD (John Gallocher) was Scots so transferred much of the traditions to Petone . Same thing happened in Oz :)
